5 Best Photo Ops in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is a city known for fun and excitement. If you’re planning to take a trip here, you definitely want to come home with some great pictures.
Be sure to check out these hot spots for the best photo ops in Las Vegas. You should also check out this post on some Unique Things To Do in Las Vegas.
With the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign
The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign is a classic in this city full of neon lights. The 25-foot tall roadside sign is in the median at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip.
The sign, which was designed by Betty Willis and erected in 1959, is also listed on the State Register of Historic Places. A small parking lot is located by the sign so it’s very easy to get the perfect picture of this Las Vegas icon.
At the Fountains of Bellagio
Another easily recognizable site in Las Vegas is the Fountains at Bellagio. These fountains have a choreographed water performance that’s set to light and music and plays every 30 minutes between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., and every 15 minutes between 8 p.m. and midnight.
The performances are set to different genres of music, so each one you see will be completely different in style. Plus, since the 1,214 fountains shoot water up to 460 feet in the air, it’s very easy to get the perfect photo no matter where you’re standing.
With an Elvis Impersonator
While Graceland is the place where Elvis Presley once lived, Las Vegas is where his memory lives on. There are countless shows along the Strip with Elvis impersonators singing some of his most famous tunes. You can even have an Elvis impersonator officiate your Las Vegas wedding.
However, if you really want the best Elvis pictures, head down to the Fremont Street Experience. Here, you can find plenty of Elvis impersonators in every color of jumpsuit imaginable who will happily take a picture with you for a tip.
Inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian
A trip to Las Vegas is like a trip around the world, especially when you step foot inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. This 875,000 square-foot shopping mall brings touches of Venice, Italy to the desert.
There are so many photo ops here that the hard part is finding the best one. You can choose the two-story waterfall at the Palazzo Waterfall Atrium and Gardens. Or, take a shot along the quarter-mile Grand Canal with its gondoliers and blue sky-painted ceiling.
With the Las Vegas Strip Behind You
No picture of Las Vegas can sum up your vacation better than one with the bright lights of the Strip behind you. For the best picture, you need to get up pretty high. Some hotels have rooftop pools or observation decks that offer the perfect photo spot.
Additionally, check online for great recommendations on which hotels will have the best views for that amazing picture. The Aria hotel, for example, has a bar called the “View Bar”, that offers an amazing view while you sip your favorite cocktail.
On your next trip to Las Vegas, make sure you don’t leave before you get some pictures of these classic Las Vegas spectacles.

The only one I didn’t get was the Welcome to Vegas sign. I didn’t feel like walking all the way there from the Mandalay, haha. I did get the Welcome to fabulous downtown Vegas though. That’s at the Fremont Street experience. You should head there if you have time – it’s a crazy place!
Lol fair enough – we drove past on the way in – there was a line which was the most amusing part, so we waited for about 15 minutes, but still a great photo op!
Will have to head through for the Fremont Street experience today – thanks Sandra!
So where’s your photo of the Las Vegas Strip?
Didn’t want to end the post with a photo – I like to keep the balance of text v photos pretty even :D Though will through a strip photo up on social media!
I really need to get one with the welcome sign… One of my numerous selfie goals haha!
It’s a pretty great selfie!!
I’ve never been to Vegas but my father loves it and has been trying to convince me to go for a while. Such beautiful shots! Definitely helping make my decision ;)
It’s definitely an overwhelming place to be! We’re not huge into the drinking or gambling, but it’s a fun weekend away just to see the lights and take in the atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit!
…plus there’s so much amazing nature which surrounds!
I don’t know why, but I’ve never seen the appeal of Las Vegas. I know that I’m supposed to love it, but I just can’t; especially now that I care less for those kinds of things with the whole ‘travel will change you’ thing (which I thought was nonsense – proved me wrong!).
I’d go if I could re-enact the Sister Act films there :)
Lol you probably can re-enact the Sister Act films if you really wanted to :D LOVE those films!
We’re not huge on drinking or gambling, but it’s fun to walk the strip at night, and we love the surrounding nature. Day trips over to Red Rock Canyons and into Utah are what we head out there for :)
Hey Megan, how are you?
Haha, the impersonators are so cool. How much do you have to tip on average to get a photo with ’em?
My friend just came back from Las Vegas not too long ago. Said it was great fun.
And funnily enough, we just saw the Hangover which was shot in Las Vegas! :D Not the first time I’ve seen it of course, but I love that movie :)
Cheers,
Ken
We tipped them a few dollars – a lot of the time though if you have a good zoom you can just get the “people” shots without posing with them and paying :)
Vegas is a lot of fun – we’re not so much into drinking or gambling, but loved walking the strip at night and exploring the surrounding natural regions :)
The Hangover is a GREAT movie!
Las Vegas is so cool! I love the diversity of atmospheres that you can find there, awesome!
Totally agree! We’re not huge drinkers of gamblers, but we love the outdoor atmosphere – especially at night!
