The view from Jade looks phenomenal Meg! Crazy how I am from NJ and have never been to the Caribbean but it is true. Folks wonder how I could be here in New Zealand, or Fiji a few years ago, or Bali or Thailand and spend so little time in my backyard. But alas; it is true LOL. I need to spend more time in these gems as well. Shorter flights ;) Thanks for sharing my friend.
Ryan
Doesn’t it!! And yes, that seems to ring true across the board, lol I’ve decided to dedicate this year to discovering more of Australia, because it’s quite embarrassing when I get to other parts of the world and people ask me where I’ve been in Aus, only to admit that I haven’t traveled much of my own country!!
Hope you have the chance to visit the Caribbean, and St Lucia, soon :)
St. Lucia is definitely one of the most beautiful islands in the world. If you haven’t been there you should go!
Totally agree with you! :)
My dream is Jade Mountain Resort – those views from the room look like something out of a fairytale book! And to have a private infinity pool … sign me up! You’re not running a giveaway for a free night are you :D
Don’t they! Jade Mountain is an incredible resort, lol we don’t have any giveaways in the works, but perhaps that’s one I can pitch in the future at some point!
I think the only issue with these resorts is that I would never leave see the actual island!!
Haha well I definitely can’t blame anyone who decides to spend most of their time enjoying the resorts!
We stayed at Marigot Bay and it was EXCELLENT. We got a bay view room that was perfectly situated over the marina.
I would recommend booking the all-inclusive dining package, as the food is very expensive otherwise. We don’t actually feel like we saved any money doing the all-inclusive, but since we budgeted it in, it took the pressure off ordering what we wanted and trying everything!
One thing to note though is that the mosquitos are CRAZY. I came home with no less than 60 bites on my legs. This isn’t a problem for Marigot Bay, but for the entire island. They do give you a small bottle of mosquito spray in the bathroom, which was thoughtful and we used it every time we went out (but apparently did not work for me). If you don’t bring anything else, bring extra spray and hydro-cortisone cream!
Thanks for sharing your experience with Marigot Bay, glad to hear you had such an incredible time :)
And thanks for the tips on the mozzies, yes, sadly tropical climates are a huge problem for that – we always travel with our own DEET, but it’s good to know that the resorts provide little bottles for you.
OMG how do you even begin to choose!!
Stay a month and spend a couple of days at each lol then you don’t have to choose :D
Have you been to all of these???!!!! I’m jealous.
Hi Alec, we haven’t stayed overnight at every single one of these, but have put together a top list based off local knowledge from the islanders :)
This is incredibly helpful, thankyou Megan. My fiance has chosen St Lucia for our honeymoon but left choosing a resort up to me, so this has just made my job of presenting options a lot quicker and easier!! Cheers.
You’re welcome Toby, glad we could help! Congratulations on your engagement too, St Lucia is an incredible choice for a honeymoon :)
Stayed at Jade Mountain for a week in February 2015. Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Rooms, views, food and service – everything was on top. We took an all inclusive package which I thought was worth it even though we are not big eaters. Highly recommend the helicopter transfer – great fun.
So glad you had such a memorable time Olga – it’s definitely one of those resorts you remember for a lifetime!! The helicopter transfer sounds fun – thanks for the tip!
We had an amazing honeymoon at Jade Mountain – a long review is not even needed as only one word describes it – sensational! Perfect honeymoon, perfect service, perfect view, perfect experience. We can’t wait to go back!
Sounds like Jade Mountain is a bit of a favorite from the comments section here – can obviously understand why!! What an incredible place for your honeymoon – good choice! So glad you enjoyed your time. Maybe you could head back for an upcoming anniversary :)
I’m not one who’s able to sit still even if a hotel has sensational views, so BodyHoliday Saint Lucia sounds cool – love that they have so many active adventure offerings. It would be interesting to learn Tai chi.
I’m personally very uncoordinated lol but Tai Chi is a lot of fun. BodyHoliday Saint Lucia definitely has enough going on to keep you busy!
Great post! The resorts look amazing! Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome Anna :) Have a great trip!
Very nice
If you had to choose one??
Jade Mountain Resort would probably be my favorite :)
Seems they have two airports
Should we use UVF or SLU
Thanks again
I woudl fly into Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) – it’s the closest to Jade Mountain, and if you have the cash to splurge you can take a 10 minute helicopter ride from the airport to the resot which is a pretty memorable way to arrive! Otherwise it’s an hour by car or taxi. SLU is about an hour and a half from the resort, so only half an hour difference which isn’t too bad if you found there were better flight routes from where you’re flying :)
