Travel Companions: Must-Pack Products for Comfort-Centric Passengers
The travel accessories you pack to take with you on your trip can make a big difference to your overall enjoyment. Like your best travel pillow, the little things you pack have the potential to make your journey more comfortable, a bit safer, or a little easier overall.
Multi-purpose Beach Towel
Packing a beach towel, a secure bag to stow your valuables and a pillow can take up space in your bag. However, choosing a multi-purpose beach towel that doubles up as a pillow reduces packing space.
Some two-in-one towels also feature a hidden storage compartment beneath the pillow to safely store your electronic items and other valuables while you’re enjoying the beach.
Money Belt
Depending on your travel destination, lugging your cash and passport around in an oversize purse or wallet on your shoulder may not be the safest option. Alternatively, you could buy specially-designed packs that allow you to stash your cash.
There are small bra stashes designed to hide credit cards and cash. If you want more room for travel documents, consider packing a sealable money belt you can tuck under your shirt to keep your things safe and out of sight.

Micro Umbrella
No matter where you travel, there’s nothing worse than getting caught in an unexpected downpour without an umbrella. Pack a compact micro-umbrella that doesn’t take up space in your luggage, but gives you some protection from the rain if you’re caught in the wet.
Portable Bidet
If you’re not into using toilet paper, it’s possible to pick up a compact portable bidet. The portable plastic nozzle is designed to plug into any small water bottle, giving you a convenient bidet to take with you when you travel.
Waterproof Dry Bag
Pack a sealable waterproof bag in your luggage. It’s ideal for keeping electronics and keys protected and dry when you’re on the water, or for keeping sand or dust out of your belongings.
Depending on the size of the bag you buy, it might also be a great option for securely storing wet clothing separately to your other dry clothes and belongings while you’re traveling.
Travel Organizers
Keeping track of your important documents and currencies is important while you’re traveling. Investing in a secure travel organizer can make it easier to store and locate the things you need in one convenient space.
Some organizers are designed with separate compartments, allowing you to see different items at a glance, while others contain RFID-blocking technology to protect your personal information from identity theft.
Portable Water Purifier
Everyone’s heard horror stories about drinking water in foreign locations and spending the next few days in a blur of gastric distress in the hotel room. You can reduce the risk of water-borne bacteria by packing a portable water purifier with you.
It’s possible to buy small purifiers that are no larger than a pen, so they won’t take up too much space in your luggage.
Ear Plugs
You might never need ear plugs when you’re trying to sleep in the comfort of your own home, but you’ll be glad you packed them for traveling. They’re ideal for keeping the noise out during overnight flights or train trips, or for sleeping in noisy hotels.
International Power Converters
If you’re traveling to a country with your mobile phone, laptop, hairdryer, hair straightener or curling iron, digital camera, or anything else that may require you to plug into an electrical outlet, you’ll benefit by packing an international power converter.
The adapter plugs insert straight into the wall socket, while your appliances or chargers slot right into the adapter, ensuring your cell phone is always charged when you need it most.
Remember that other countries don’t use the same types of electrical outlets. It is possible to buy an adapter that converts to a range of different outlets to suit a variety of destinations. Some even have added USB ports for that extra level of convenience.
List of Emergency Contacts
No matter where you’re traveling, take the time to prepare a list of emergency contacts to take with you. If you’re traveling overseas, include contact details for the local US Embassy or consulate. The Department of State may also be able to provide financial assistance in the event your credit cards are stolen while you’re abroad, so keep their contact details handy too.
