The Commonwealth of Virginia is one of the smallest states in the USA, ranked 35th in area, though when it comes to opportunities for sporting and outdoor enthusiasts, it’s easily ranked #1.
Virginia’s unique shape makes it a ten hour drive from east to west along the southern border, giving you more for your money across a limited expanse.
From Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean waterfronts on the secluded beaches of the Delmarva peninsula, seaside locales like Virginia Beach and the affluent Northern Neck along the Tidewater’s coastal floodplains, the rolling hills of the Piedmont, caves of the Shenandoah Valley and the old, rounded mountains of the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Plateau, Virginia is your dream destination.

Popular spots like Yellowstone National Park, New York City, or the Grand Canyon might be at the top of most people’s lists, but this country is so big that there are tons of opportunities for exploration and discovery.

When considering the best casino hotels in the US, those in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Reno inevitably come to mind. After all, these three cities are known for their great casinos and hotels.

There are more cabins for solo travelers too. That’s good news for gal getaways as well as for multigenerational groups with a grandparent in tow. My experience on ships is it’s easy to connect with other travelers. Whether I sit at the bar, request to have dinner at a larger table, or join active shore excursions, other passengers are welcoming.
