Needless to say, the travel retail industry took a major hit during the pandemic; all those tempting duty-free items sold to international travelers in airports, on cruises, through airlines, at ferry terminals and ports, etc.
Airports are where you find the things you never knew you needed, or where you simply make purchases based on the perception you are getting a great deal buying duty-free. More and more though, brands are realizing that many buyers are less tempted by cheaper prices and more enticed by special products such as unique flavors or styles which are sold exclusively at airports and not found in regular stores or online.
Travel retailers need to make up for lost sales caused by the pandemic, so we can expect more travel-exclusive products to pop-up in airports, along with airport stores that are more immersive or unique. It’s always tough balancing your stress levels before heading out on a trip; not only can the travel planning process itself be a stressful time, but the last minute rush to fit everything on your to-do list in.
It always seems to be the case that there’s never enough time to get everything done before you board the plane; housework piles up, work piles up, and the aim is of course to get ahead and front end your work for the time you’ll be away.
But working yourself too hard, and taking on too much in the weeks immediately before a trip can leave you burnt out by the time you leave. And while exhaustion is definitely a solid strategy for sleeping soundly through a long haul flight, you don’t want to be spending your first few days of vacation totally worn out and tired; you want to seize every second of your vacation time and feel energized.
If you identify with the above, and find yourself phsyically and mentally exhausted before you leave for a trip, utilise these tips for avoiding burnout in the lead up to your travels.

Cancun is known for it’s wild vacations; typically for its tequila-feuled days, and dancing on table tops by night; the nightlife and party resorts have long drawn crowds looking for a loose time.
Though for those who aren’t sleeping off a hangover during the day, Mexico’s biggest party destination is an ecotourism delight; surrounded by lush parks, verdant jungles, and waters teeming with life, Cancun is a fantastic base for encountering actual wildlife.
Part of the Riviera Maya / Yucatán Peninsula, prolific for mammals, repitiles and amphibians, Cancun has a rich variety of animals which live throughout its surrounding jungles, savannahs, coral reefs, and coastal lagoons. From turtles nesting on the white sand beaches, to iguanas sunbathing on the rocks, and whale sharks swimming offshore, you might think of Cancun as a party destination, but nature tourists can have a wild time too!

Recent surveys have shown that 70% of Americans are planning to take a road trip this holiday season instead of flying, and the story is similar in other countries around the world. Despite fuel prices being quite high, people are ditching wings in favor of four rubber tires as air travel becomes more of a hassle thanks to the pandemic.
They say life is about the journey and not the destination, and that definitely rings true with road tripping. But a poorly planned road trip filled with boredom and preventable hiccups can easily ruin your road trip holiday.

The Igorots of Sagada, Philippines have been participating in an extremely unique burial ritual for thousands of years.
The elderly members of the community will carve their own coffins out of hollowed out logs prior to their death. They are then placed into a coffin which is then hung at the side of a cliff as high up as possible.
One of the most common beliefs behind this practice is the belief that the bodies of the dead will reach their ancestral spirits. They choose to place their family members in the foetal position as they believe it is important to depart the world the same way you entered.
This tradition is slowly dying out as the new generation in Sagada is influenced by modern culture. There is also fear around breaking the bones of their loved ones after death. This may be a tradition that disappears soon.
