Celebrities rub shoulders here with everyday mortals, and because of how busy the city is, they blend in with a certain amount of anonymity.

Whether you’re traveling to New York for some celeb spotting, or feel like experiencing the city as a celeb yourself, these are our favorit picks for things to do in the Big Apple to live it like you’re famous.

Live like a Celeb: Things to Do in New York When You’re Famous

Take A Stroll Through Central Park

Central Park NYC RF

Central Park is a typical New York experience, and you’ll often find celebs here blending in with the rest of the locals – donning baseball hats on their morning jogs, and sipping coffee on the benches.

As you leave the congested sidewalks of 59th Street with people who severely lack basic sidewalk etiquette and enter a sea of greenery, you may not immediately recognize what is in front of you: 693 acres of man-made gardens, meadows, woodlands, and steep terrain.

If you strolled down each and every route in Central Park, it would take you around 58 miles to complete the journey. In addition to the 21 playgrounds, an ice skating rink, and even a zoo, you will see sculptures, bridges, and arches as you venture along this path.

However, you would hardly detect the four major crosstown thoroughfares because they have been expertly concealed behind tunnels that are covered with greenery.

Enjoy Some Gambling

New York City is a majorlly untapped gambling market in the United States, though when the sun sets, the rich and famous head out to waste their money on the tables!

Empire City Casino by MGM is one of the largest in the country, with more than 5,200 slots and electronic table games. There’s roulette, poker, baccarat, and sic bo, and it’s the home of Yonkers Raceway, the historic 120-year-old horse racing track with year-round harness racing.

Celebrity appearances, concerts, and athlete meet & greets are common here, and there’s an ultra-plush craft cocktail lounge with retro bowling lanes that features the tristate’s most popular DJs.

Not everyone enjoys the crowded and hectic casinos that New York has to offer, so there’s also this list of online casinos available in New York if you’d prefer to stay back in your hotel room.

When the Whitney Museum moved from its previous location on the Upper East Side to its current headquarters in the Meatpacking District in 2015, it received a significant upgrade.

It features four outdoor exhibition spaces and terraces, as well as a restaurant on the ground floor and a bar on the top floor, both of which were designed by Danny Meyer, one of the most well-known restaurateurs in the area.

The indoor galleries span 50,000 square feet and include works by artists such as Alexander Calder, Jean Michel Basquiat, and Richard Avedon.

Two elevators built by different artists are used to connect the floors. Take the stairs instead of the elevator if mobility isn’t an issue for you because they give unobstructed views of the Hudson river.

In addition, the top floors and sculpture terraces are connected by a series of external staircases. These staircases offer spectacular views of the city skyline as well as a unique opportunity to encounter art in its natural setting.

There is no shortage of jaw-dropping sights to be seen across the city; nevertheless, the team behind Summit One Vanderbilt has recruited a collection of major names to bring together a great experience that you could easily spend a few hours enjoying.

It all begins with the elevator, which is a trip that is loaded with light and sound and takes guests all the way up to the 91st floor. When you get there, you’ll be greeted by a vast room filled with mirrors that has a view of New York City.

In addition, there are revolving art installations that are provided by Kenzo Digital, in addition to two unique features. The first is called Levitation, and it is a glass skybox that gives you the impression that you are hovering 1,000 feet above Madison Avenue.

The second is called Ascent, and it is a separate glass elevator that takes you even higher so that you can look down on the city of Manhattan.

Inside, a Nordic-inspired room provides cuisine and drinks from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events, such as stuffed pretzels and scrumptious toast.

In addition, there is a wrap-around outdoor terrace that has the vibe of New York’s most exciting rooftop bar.
