How do you remember past adventures? Do you log them on social media? Do you keep a blog? Maybe you have a photographic memory and can recall every second of past travels perfectly (though for most people that’s not an option!)
Personally, my favorite way to preserve travel moments is by journaling.
Not to be confused with blogging, journaling is much more than just writing your crush’s name over and over again like you did in middle school (at least I did!). It’s actually a very therapeutic practice that allows you to reflect on your experiences, and record observations of things happening in the present.
It is in a way, very similar to blogging, though the main difference is that with journaling, you use a pen and paper (yes I know – what are those?!).
Keeping a journal in your daily life can be an arduous task, but it’s a great habit to get into when you travel. Here are a few reasons you should consider keeping a travel journal with you during your next adventure.

From playing on cruise ships, to enjoying a slice of Italian pizza while the balls are called, bingo is one of the world’s favorite games. To put it in perspective, more money is spent every year in the UK on bingo tickets than it is on football!
Depending on which part of the world you’re in, Bingo is used as an education tool, played in pubs as a drinking game, and is a really fun way to practice your language / number skills if you’re traveling in another country.
And bingo players are a lot younger than you might think; this isn’t your grandmothers sport anymore! The average age of a bingo player is 35 years old.
The game itself comes from Italy, dating back to 1530 when it was known as ‘Lo Giuoco del Lotto D’Italia’ (and it’s still played over pizza every Saturday). Though nearly 500 years later, the rest of the world has well and truly caught on!

We’ve written plenty of posts about the importance of traveling with a VPN; about the dangers of using public WiFi, why your privacy is otherwise at risk, and the best ways to keep your data safe and protect your tech.
But one thing we haven’t yet addressed is exactly what you should look for in a good VPN; what type of features are the most important for international travelers.
A Virtual Private Network is the most important thing to have for internet use while traveling. It encrypts your traffic and sends it through a secure server, which can be in a country of your choosing.
For instance, you could be logging on from Peru, but as far as your browser is concerned, you’re accessing the internet from Australia. This is great for getting around internet censorship in countries such as China, but also means that your connection is totally private.
You’re able to browse the internet securely and anonymously, and no-one can hack you to steal data like they could on an open, public network (think free internet in airports, cafes, and hotels).
But not all VPN services are created equal. So, when evaluating your options, you should make sure you get the following functionality and services.

One of the southern-most points in Australia, Bruny Island lies off the south coast of Tasmania. Though despite being just a short drive and ferry ride from Hobart, less than 10% of travelers to Tasmania visit, choosing instead to head to more famous parts of the State like Cradle Mountain and Freycinet National Park.
Their loss!
While Bruny Island may only be 50 kilometres across, the unassuming island is one of Tasmania’s best kept secrets, and while small in size, it certainly packs a heavy punch; think stunning natural beaches, elusive quolls and white wallabies, and sustainable luxury at its finest.

When it comes to prepping for an emergency disaster, we don’t blame you if it’s the last thing on your mind. After-all, you’re going on vacation to have a good time. You don’t want to think about terrorism, natural disasters, or conflict.
And granted, it’s very rare that you’ll be caught up in an event that qualifies as a disaster, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen, and they key to survival in any situation is being prepared for anything.
