A Decadent Stay at the Hotel Duval
We took one step into our suite at the Hotel Duval, Tallahassee, and our jaws hit the ground with a thunderous crash. A member of the Marriott Autograph Collection, we had expected luxury, and we had expected unique; Autograph Collection is an exclusive portfolio of innovative and stylish boutique hotels. Though this was a kind of decadent luxury only reserved for our wildest imaginations.
An oversized suite which offered every amenity we could have possibly hoped for, the Diamond suite literally left us breathless and lost for words (which my husband will tell you is an incredible accomplishment, as I’m not often without my words!).

It was 900 square feet of innovative, open design, plush furniture and seductive, boutique artwork, with a King Bed which sat next to an oversized spa bath with soaking tub, and a shower area with rainmaker shower head and river rock massaging floors.
Our kitchenette came complete with a sink, wine chiller and microwave, as well as a full wet bar with additional seating. An additional half bath was located in a relaxation area which included leather lounge furniture, a coffee table stacked with glossy, modern books on photography, and a 42″ LCD television. This was in addition to the 37″ television in our bedroom. Did we mention the Blu-Ray player, Nintendo Wii gaming console and iPod docking station alarm clock?!
So seduced by our sensational accommodation, we didn’t experience Tallahassee itself until the next morning when that clock struck 11 for check-out. We drank there (Level 8 Lounge is a fantastic rooftop bar), we dined there; we belonged in this incredible, incredible space. This was our place.
We were guests of the Hotel Duval, Tallahassee. All opinions are our own.

This kind of hotel is terrible for the usual travelers. They make you forget to go outside and actually explore the place :D
WOW! That looks incredible! What great photos!! The next time we head to Tallahassee, I know where we’re staying!!
Wow, this hotel looks like it’s a destination in its own right. How did Tallahassee measure up in comparison?
short drive or easy walking distance to the Duval are Tallahassee’s lovely chain of city parks, and a bit further on the Museum of Florida History and the Historic Capitol Museum. Glad you saw the Nat Hist Museum but — you missed several real gems not far from your hotel. Perhaps on another visit…
