Hipmunk City Love: Best Photo Opportunities in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the world and is most famous for its buzzing energy, thriving nightlife, and endless options for casinos, resorts, and entertainment. It’s one of the top tourist destinations in the world and is a popular setting for Hollywood films, television shows, and chart-topping music videos.

With so much adult fun and excitement here, you definitely want to return home with epic photographs to share. Make sure what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas. Here are five hotspots for the best photo opportunities on and off the Las Vegas Strip.

The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

This is a Vegas icon, so don’t miss the opportunity to snap a photo with the 25-foot-tall Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas roadside sign.

The sign is on the median at the southern end of the Vegas Strip. This classic sign was erected in 1959 and is now listed on the State Register of Historic Places.

A Selfie With Elvis

There are more Elvis impersonators in Vegas than in Graceland, so you’re likely to stumble upon the opportunity to snap a photo with an Elvis impersonator while at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. You can also catch an Elvis show live along the Strip, or even have an impersonator officiate your wedding.

For the best Elvis photo ops, though, head out on a walk down Fremont Street. Here you’ll find countless Elvis impersonators ready to snap a selfie with you for a tip.

The Fountains of Bellagio

One of the most iconic attractions in Las Vegas are the Fountains at the Bellagio hotel.

This is an impressive water show featuring 1,214 fountains and choreographed lights and music. It plays every 30 minutes between 3 and 8 p.m., so you’ll have ample opportunity to snap a photo.

A Selfie on the Strip

With the bright lights of the world-famous Strip behind you, no picture of Las Vegas will sum up your vacation better than this one.

For this picture it’s important to get up high. Many of the iconic Las Vegas hotels have a rooftop pool or an observation deck, and this is the perfect spot for that epic photo op.

Inside the Venetian

When you travel to Vegas it’s almost as though you’ve traveled around the world. On the Strip you’ll see the Eiffel Tower, the skyscrapers of New York, and, for one of the best photo opportunities on the Strip, the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. This is a shopping mall that brings Venice alive in the desert, and there are so many opportunities for photos here it’s difficult to know where to start.

No matter where you start, don’t miss a photo at the two-story waterfall and gardens in the Palazzo Waterfall Atrium, or on the Grand Canal where gondoliers navigate the canals under a ceiling painted to resemble a blue sky.

Don’t leave Las Vegas before snapping some of these iconic shots. These memories will remind you of your evening, even if you wake up under the weather the next day!
